I hope everyone is surviving the smokey skies this Prince George summer. Registration is for the 2018/19 speed skating season is coming up soon. Registration for returning members in Thursday, September 6th. Registration for new members is Thursday, September 13th. Members who are unable to attend either night please contact me directly to coordinate a time to meet. Ice fees for the season have been increased by $15 for all skaters this year, and BCSSA fees have also increased. If you have questions about fees please don't hesitate to ask. Registration has been more efficient in the past when families arrive with completed forms. If you are able please bring completed forms to Registration night. A reminder that families will need to bring payment for the registration fees, as well as to bring separate post-dated cheques for the fundraising levy and skate rental deposit. A quick reminder that skaters who are training in Calgary and who wish to compete as BC skaters must be registered with the PG Blizzard before the season begins. This includes submission of registration forms and fees. Skaters who are over the age of 18 must sign the forms. Registration is also open for the 2018 Kick Start Camp. This camp is open to all skaters (from FUNdamentals to Masters) and will run September 22nd. Kickstart Camp will run concurrently with the BCSSA Short Track Academy. Skaters who register for the Short Track Academy session do not need to register for Kickstart Camp. Please email your completed form to Kari Rae at pgblizzard.president@gmail.com. We have posted information about this year's Learn to Skate program to the PG Blizzard Facebook site. Please help us to spread the word by liking the Facebook page and sharing the Learn to Skate post. Word of mouth has consistently shown to be the best form of advertising to our club. GREAT NEWS!!! The PG Blizzards have been selected to host the 2018/19 Provincial Short Track Championships in March 2019!! Keep an eye out for more information coming soon. Enjoy the next couple of weeks - we hope to be on the ice in another month! Thank you, Kessie Konwicki, Registrar PG Blizzard Speed Skating Club ~ on behalf of the PG Blizzard Board of Directors |
