Week of February 4, 2018

4/2/2018

Good evening PG Blizzard families,

We are back to our regularly scheduled ice times this week - however, please be aware that Advanced Group practice on Family Day - Monday Feb. 12th - is cancelled.

Our athletes are working hard to get ready for BC Winter Games, Canada Age Class Long Track and BC Short Track (provincial championships) early in March. If you have the opportunity, check out the Olympic short track and long track speed skating events over the next few weeks - there are going to be some exciting competitions on both tracks.

Otherwise it's a slow news week!

1. Oval - Iceman Volunteers

The Iceman is this coming Sunday, February 11th. Fingers crossed for excellent skating weather. The Outdoor Ice Oval ice crew will be doing their amazing work to make sure that Iceman skaters have the best possible skating surface. The Iceman also needs several volunteers to help out at the Oval on race day. If you are available to assist, please contact Keri Rae at pgblizzard.president@gmail.com.

Volunteers are needed to support and coordinate participants, manage crowds and many other tasks. No experience necessary.

2. Fundraising

A reminder that there are several fundraising opportunities available right now. Skate-a-thon is coming up soon, the Pub Night fundraiser is Sunday February 18th (tickets are $25), and the Easter Purdys order is now open.

If you have questions please contact Elaina or Amber at pgblizzard.fundraising@gmail.com.

Have a great week!

Kessie.
